It's Festival Time
My glitter tattoos are packed along with the sun cream and a raincoat. Not forgetting a blanket, of course. I am looking forward to a relaxing and exciting opportunity to participate in the Wilderness Festival whilst utilising the skills I have learnt through my NCTJ Journalism course with the Academy for Disabled Journalists.
Having never been to a festival before, it’s a little nerve-wracking. However, I am reassured that Festival Spirit will enable me to make the most of the weekend by providing extra support such as a profiling bed and accessible campsite. They even offer buddies to help you around the site too.
From dance music, comedy, activities, food and a lake! Will I be brave enough to attempt to get in (and out) of the lake? I fully intend to slip back to my late teens allowing the music to consume me. I must confess I didn’t recognise many names but having tested the waters on YouTube, I know I am in for a treat.
For quieter times, there are poets and speakers, crafts and meditation. How I am going to plan my weekend remains to be seen, but it will be crammed full of exciting new experiences.
Now to look at the weather forecast!
